Groundbreaking ceremony for the TOTAL multi-energy station in Rostock

02.09.2016 - Rostock

On this day, by the presence of the energy minister of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Mr. Christian Pegel, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the multi-energy station Rostock was performed by the involved project partners (TOTAL Deutschland GmbH, H2-Mobility Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, WIND-projekt GmbH, Nordex acciona). The project is funded by the federal government by the National Organization Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology with about 700.000 €. In the future fuel cell vehicles and fully electric battery vehicles can be refueled with hydrogen or charged with electricity. The electricity for the operation of the hydrogen fueling station and for the charging stations provide wind turbines by Nordex nearby which are planned by WIND-projekt. As a result green wind power from the region can be used for the low emission mobility and the required power consumption for the hydrogen fueling station can be provided. An additional battery buffer allows requirement-oriented use of green electricity. For WIND-projekt, who already has a Hyundai ix 35 Fuel Cell, a H2-vehicel, it is an important step to obtain refueling stations near the company headquarter and simultaneously to realize a successful example of the sector coupling of wind energy and mobility.
